What "religion" is your name..?

How does a name acquire a religion..? I've had countless number of people asking me why i was named Febin.. Apparently it is not a "Muslim" name... What anyway is a Muslim name..? or for that matter what makes a name belong to any religion..?

Okay, certain names can be categorized into religions. True.. Names like Krishna and Vishnu are obviously names chosen by people following Hinduism.. And Muslims choose names like Abdullah and Abdul Majeed. These names mean something, something that pertains to God or something connected to that.. What I am talking about are the million other names, especially Indian names that have been classified into religions, the reasons for which I do not understand..

How did Sangita become Hindu when all it means is music..? Abhay(fearless), Pawan(wind), Anand(happiness) are all "Hindu" names.. Why..? Who made it that way.? They are all beautiful names with meanings that are in no way religious.. What made them "Hindu"..? Faiza(gain), Gul(flower), Shabnam(dew drops).. What made these "Muslim"..? Aftab and Aditya mean the same (the sun).. then why is each one of a different "religion"..? Who made these rules..?

I'm glad my name belongs to no religion.. And i wish all names were chosen not for its religion but for its meaning...

Movies can actually kill you...

Till now, when somebody asked me about the worst movie I ever watched, I really never had a proper answer. I had to think really hard to come up with a movie I didnt like all that much. But now, I have one: The ugly duckling and me.

We ended up watching this movie as tickets for all the other movies were sold out and we didnt want to cancel our movie plans. Except for 5 other kids, the theatre was empty. That should have been my first hint. But who could have ever guessed that a movie about a rat and a duckling could be so disastrous?

The movie was excrutiatingly painfully boring. From the first minute, we were dying to walk out. The only thing that kept us in our seats were the price of the tickets.

The animation quality was CRAP. And all the animals, not just the duckling, were horrendously ugly and in some places, even scary looking. Dialogues were very poor. I have no idea about what genre this movie would be placed under (apart from animation). There was absolutely no comedy, no romance, no action, no sentiments; in short, nothing at all. I couldnt even feel sorry for the duckling. I wonder what the makers of this movie were thinking when they came up with this piece of trash. Animation has reached totally new heights and this movie was demeaning to the entire animation industry. Wonder who the target audience was. There was absolutely no cuteness factor for tiny kids to enjoy it. In fact, they might just get terrified 'coz the animals look quite evil. And too boring for adults. The other 5 kids in the theatre were actually playing tag during the second half of the movie. They could afford to. Huge empty hall and rows of seats to run through. And just some senseless stuff playing on the screen in front which nobody cared about.

I think they should seriously issue a statutory warning in places screening this movie. WATCHING THIS MOVIE IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH. CAN EVEN CAUSE DEATH (by boredom). GO SMOKE A CIGARETTE OR TWO INSTEAD.
